Rostering maintenance in myLexia
Overview
This document is for administrators who are carrying out manual rostering maintenance before a new school year. It describes what maintenance tasks you may need to complete in myLexia, including deleting unused classes, removing unused student and staff accounts, and promoting students.
You can perform these tasks at the end of a school year, or before the beginning of a new school year.
If you use Clever, ClassLink, or Lexia’s automated import, see Rostering Maintenance for sites that automate data
Applies to: Educators and administrators who have School Admin or District Admin access to myLexia.
When planning rostering tasks such as promoting student grade levels, school admins in a district should coordinate with their district administrator to avoid duplicate efforts.
Which method of rostering maintenance is best for my school or district?
You can choose to perform many rostering tasks at once via spreadsheet imports, or perform rostering tasks one at a time in myLexia. The table below compares the two methods.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Option #1: Manual Spreadsheet Import | Bulk Rostering:
|
Option #2: Manual Rostering in myLexia | Individual Rostering:
|
Option 1: Manual Import (Spreadsheet Upload)

Use the manual import method to perform several end-of-year tasks at once on a group of students and/or staff.
Manual import allows you to create new student and staff accounts, and modify grades, classes, and schools as a bulk action.
Because the manual import method does not archive student accounts, delete staff accounts, clear class rosters, or delete classes, please make sure to follow Steps 1, 2, and 3 before rostering with manual import.
Please note that if you use manual imports to modify student accounts, the student first name, last name, and username in your import file must all match the student’s current information in myLexia.com. If you change usernames in your import spreadsheet, you will create additional accounts instead of modifying the existing accounts.

Option 2: Manual rostering in myLexia

Use manual rostering in myLexia to perform individual rostering tasks for student, staff, and class maintenance. This is a good option if you have a small number of students, staff, or classes you need to update.
This method allows you to create new student and staff accounts, classes, and schools one at a time.
This method allows you to archive student accounts, delete staff accounts, clear class rosters, and delete classes.
