Which Lexia reading program should my student use: Core5 or PowerUp?Overview Students with a "Not Started" Reading Status in myLexia are automatically enrolled in either Lexia® Core5® Reading or Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® based on their grade. The “Core5 Grade” setting in the school or district’s myLexia site determines which grades are assigned to either program. The default setting is that students in grades PreK-5 are enrolled in Core5, and students in grades 6 and above are enrolled in PowerUp. For more information, see myLexia Settings: Highest Grade automatically Assigned to Core5.There may be circumstances where an educator wants to assign a student to a different program other than what they are enrolled in by default. Product News and Updates: AspireSee the current system requirements for Aspire: Aspire System Requirements.Product News and Updates - January 2026 We’ve included a new My Documents page!  Participants can now download all documents (All Certificates, Journal Entries, and Transcript) on the new My Documents page. The documents can be downloaded as individual PDFs or as a single zipped file containing all PDFs. We’ve include a Required Activities Count Display! ​​​​​​​Participants will see the count of required activities on each course page. As the participant completes activities, the number will increase until it reaches the total number of required activities on the screen, activating the NEXT button. This will NOT be visible to leaders as their activities are not considered “required.”

 Product News and Updates: myLexiaSee the System Requirements for the 2025-2026 school year in Lexia System Requirements.myLexia Updates - November 2025 We have added an option for adjusting student placement with Core5 Retake Placement. This new feature in myLexia allows Core5 students to go through Auto Placement again without losing all historical progress data.  We improved accessibility with a new Audio Transcript Display Setting. This can be turned on for individual learners and allows them to see on-screen transcripts where available.  Core5 and PowerUp literacy standards reporting now supports standards for the following states/provinces: Oregon New Mexico Kentucky Minnesota Connecticut Ontario, Canada  We are continuing ongoing performance and design improvements with a focus on Reading Program student reports.

The home page has also updated all tables with a posttest column including the School tab, Participant tab, Cohorts and License Sets.
