How to Link a Staff Exception Account to Their ClassLink SourcedIDOverviewThis article is for administrators who use ClassLink to manage their staff in myLexia.Some staff may need exception accounts to allow them to have myLexia access even though their data can't be shared with myLexia through ClassLink. However, if you share a staff member through ClassLink, and they also have an exception account in myLexia that has the same username or name as the data that you share through ClassLink, it can prevent their account from syncing from ClassLink to myLexia.If an exception account in myLexia prevents the staff account from syncing to myLexia from ClassLink, you can assign the staff member’s ClassLink ID to their existing exception account in myLexia. It describes some issues you may see if a staff member has an exception account in myLexia and you are also sharing their account through Clever.Not all exception accounts cause sync errors. Some administrator accounts and accounts for non-classroom teachers and specialists are set up purposefully as exceptions in myLexia because they are not shared with Lexia through the automated sync.Staff exception account issuesSome staff may need exception accounts to allow them to have myLexia access. When Students Remain In PlacementOverviewThis article explains why you may see some Core5 or PowerUp students listed as being “In Placement” in myLexia for an extended amount of time. Applies to: Educators and administrators who have Teacher or Admin access to myLexia®What do I do when my student remains “In Placement” for a long time?There are several reasons why a student may take longer than average to finish Auto Placement for a Lexia program: The student is far below or far above grade level. Placement may take longer for students whose skills are either far below or far above grade level. This is because the placement activities may need to scaffold up or down through multiple levels in order to determine their current skill level. There is an audio issue. Since Core5 and PowerUp require that the student be able to hear audio instructions, it may help to confirm with the student that their sound is turned on and that they can hear the instructions. Headphones are recommended.
