Clear Class Rosters in myLexia

Overview

At the end of a school year, or when class rosters have changed, administrators can opt to clear class rosters in bulk. Clearing the roster removes students from the class, but allows you to reuse a class’s name, staff, and grade/year. If classes are no longer needed, you can delete them in myLexia instead of clearing the rosters.

Applies to: Educators and administrators who have Teacher, School Admin, or District Admin access to myLexia.

• Staff who have myLexia School Administrator access can clear the rosters of classes in their assigned school.

• Staff who have myLexia District Administrator access can clear the rosters of classes in their district.

• Staff who have myLexia Teacher access can clear the rosters of classes that they are assigned to.

Does not apply to: Educators and administrators who have read-only accounts in myLexia. If you have a read-only account, contact your myLexia school or district administrator for help.

How do I clear class rosters in myLexia?

1. In myLexia, select Manage.

   

2. Select the Classes tab.

3. Choose classes by selecting the boxes next to the class names. Or, to select all classes, select the box in the row of options above the list. The number of selected classes will display.

   Before selecting classes, use the filter dropdown menus at the top of the columns to filter by grade, school, programs in use, etc. You can filter by one or more options, for example, you could filter by all 5th grade classes at a specific school.

4. Select the Clear Rosters button.

   

Does clearing a class roster delete staff or student accounts?

No! Clearing the class roster only removes the students associated with the class from that class. It does not remove staff from the class, delete the accounts of students or staff assigned to the class, or affect student progress.

I cleared a class roster by mistake! Is there a way to restore the class?

You cannot undo clearing a class roster, however, you can add students back into the class. Please see:

You may have Read-Only access to myLexia—If you have Read-Only access in myLexia, work with one of your myLexia school or district administrators to clear multiple class rosters.

You may have Teacher access to myLexia—teachers are not able to clear multiple class rosters at once, although they can remove students from their assigned classes.
