How does Automated Rostering Affect Managing Students, Staff, and/or Classes?
How does automated rostering affect managing students, staff, and/or classes in myLexia?
Some schools and districts use automated tools to sync information in myLexia with their Student Information System (SIS). If your district manages students, staff, and/or classes through automated rostering, any data shared through the automated rostering sync should be automatically created and updated in myLexia.
When data in myLexia is synced with your SIS, you aren’t able to change the information in myLexia.
For example, if a class is synced with your SIS, you won’t be able to edit the class name or add or remove students from the class. If a student is synced with your SIS, you won’t be able to edit any student information that is managed through the automated sync, such as their name, username, or grade. However, you will be able to edit information that doesn’t sync with your SIS, such as their program assignment or language support option.
How do I know if my school or district uses automated rostering?
Data that is managed with an automated sync appears gray in myLexia, and you are not able to edit automated data. Gray, uneditable fields could also indicate that you don’t have permissions to edit that data. To confirm if your school or district uses automated tools for rostering, check with your school or district myLexia administrator.
