Help! I deleted my class by mistake!
If you accidentally deleted your class by mistake, the good news is that student progress and information are attached to the individual student accounts, not to the class.
If you remove students or staff from a class, or delete the class, it does not delete any accounts from myLexia. You can remove students or staff from a class, or delete a class, without worrying about deleting accounts or data.
You may have noticed that after you deleted your class, you can no longer see your students in myLexia. Once again, no need to worry about this! Once you create a new class and add students to it, you’ll be able to see your students’ progress on the Reading page again, and be able to see their accounts in Manage > Students.
See For Teachers: How do I Create a Class? for instructions on how to create a class.
Oh no! I deleted a lot of classes!
If you are an administrator who accidentally deleted a lot of classes, take a deep breath. No need to panic! Your students’ progress hasn’t been deleted.
If you remove students or staff from a class, or delete the class, it does not delete any accounts from myLexia. You can remove students or staff from a class, or delete a class, without worrying about deleting accounts or data.
So, your data isn’t gone, but re-creating all of those classes one by one in myLexia seems like it could be a lot of work...what are your best options?
Consider using a manual import to add students and staff back into their classes. Lexia Support can offer advice on the best way to do this. If you will be using a manual import to create classes, see Guidelines for Manually Importing Students and Staff .
In some cases, Lexia Support may be able to help you restore some or all of your classes. Because this depends on a number of factors lining up, the ability of Lexia Support to restore all of your classes is not guaranteed.
If manual import doesn’t seem like the right way to go for your school or district, keep in mind that teachers can create their own classes, so you can distribute the work of creating new classes! See For Teachers: How do I Create a Class? for instructions on how teachers can create classes.
If you deleted a lot of classes and would like advice on the best way to create the classes again, please select the Still Need Help? button at the end of this article. In the Description section of the Contact Us form, let the support team know when you created the classes and when you deleted them. It’s okay if you don’t know exact dates—an approximation is fine!
Is there an archive for classes in myLexia?
No, there is no class archive that you can restore classes from. Deleting a class is permanent.
