Clever Sync Troubleshooting: Student Username or Password Issue

Overview

The Username/Password setting in myLexia®️ determines what information Lexia pulls from Clever to build student usernames and passwords. If the information needed for either the username or password field is empty or invalid in Clever, the student account will have an import error, and their myLexia account won't be created. This article describes some things to check that may have caused an invalid student username or password.

Applies to: Staff who have myLexia®️ administrative accounts (District Administrators in a district site, and School Administrators in a school site) who also have administrative access to Clever.

Students who don't have myLexia accounts will receive a login error if they try to log in to a Lexia Student Program through Clever. If you have students who you have confirmed are being shared with the myLexia app in Clever, but who don't have myLexia accounts, review your student username and password settings in myLexia and then check your error log.

  1. Review your student username and password settings in myLexia.

  2. Check your error log for student import errors.

  3. If your error log says that a student username or password was “invalid”, find the student in Clever and select Details.

  4. Check to see if any of the fields used to generate the required information for the student's myLexia username or password is empty or contains invalid characters.

    Common issues to look out for:

    • If your student username convention in myLexia is Student Number, make sure that the student_ number field is populated in Clever for each student.

    • If your student username convention is Provided Username, make sure that the student’s credentials.district_username field is populated in Clever for each student.
