Manual Import Error Codes: First Name, Last Name do not match with existing Username
Overview
Manual import allows you to import comma-separated (.csv) or tab-separated (.tsv) spreadsheet files of staff and student information into myLexia.
This article describes what to do if you received an error when you tried to import staff or students, downloaded the error report and saw FIRST NAME, LAST NAME do not match with USERNAME in the “Errors” column.

Applies to: Educators and Administrators who have myLexia District Admin access, and some Educators and Administrators who have School Admin access to myLexia.
How do I fix the “FIRST NAME, LAST NAME do not match with existing USERNAME” error?
The “FIRST NAME, LAST NAME do not match with existing USERNAME” error means that both of the following are true:
There is already a student or staff account in myLexia with this username.
Your import file contains a different first and/or last name than the first and/or last name for this username in myLexia.
For security reasons, we do not allow first and last names to be changed via import.
Instructions
Determine which is correct: myLexia or your import file – check your import file and the account in myLexia for nicknames, misspellings, etc.
Fix the first and/or last name in myLexia or in the import file
If the first name and last name are correct in myLexia, change the import file to match what is in myLexia.
If the first name and/or last name are incorrect in myLexia, edit the student account in myLexia so that it matches what is in the import file. Note: Staff users can make changes to their name in myLexia, under My Profile.
Attempt the import again with your modified import file.
