What is a LETRS local certified facilitator?

Overview

A Lexia® LETRS​® local certified facilitator, or LCF, is an expert in LETRS content.

A facilitator:

  • Shows a deep understanding in research and evidence-based theories

  • Is qualified to deliver professional learning sessions

  • Supports the implementation of LETRS in their local sponsoring agency

This article explains the local certified facilitator's role in LETRS.

Applies to: Local certified facilitators and facilitator candidates for professional learning sessions for Lexia® LETRS​® and Lexia® LETRS® for Early Childhood Educators courses of study.

There is no option to become a local certified facilitator for Lexia® LETRS® for Administrators.

Does not apply to: Educators who are enrolled in the Lexia® LETRS​®, Lexia® LETRS® for Early Childhood Educators, and/or Lexia® LETRS® for Administrators courses of study.

LETRS local certified facilitator requirements

Facilitators must meet requirements, including:

  • Completing all content in the LETRS learning platform

  • Attending all required professional learning sessions

  • Completion of prerequisites

LETRS local certified facilitator role

Once certified, a facilitator must:

  • Maintain their deep understanding of the science of reading, as well as the research and evidence-based theories of LETRS

  • Lead LETRS professional learning sessions for all units in a given volume to others within their sponsoring agency

    Your sponsoring agency must be a local, regional, or state educational agency that is also an employer. Schools and districts are two common examples.

  • Renew their LETRS local certified facilitator license annually to continue accessing resources
