For PowerUp Students

  • We added weekly unit goals to the student’s Home screen. Features include:

    • Each strand has its own unit goal, which resets weekly.

    • The meter on the strand card now shows the student’s weekly units completed and their goal.

    • Students see a celebration when they meet their unit goal.

    • Weekly minute targets remain unchanged and strands will lock when those are reached.

    • Educators can turn off automatic strand management in myLexia to keep strands open regardless of time spent.

  • We added a Resume Last Activity button at the bottom of the Home screen. This new button:

    • allows students to jump directly back into the unit they were last working on

    • saves time and encourages completion of unfinished work

    • appears only after a student begins working in the program and once per session

  • We added new background music to the Home screen.

  • We updated passages, themes, and art in Comprehension Levels 2 and 4 to enhance engagement, vocabulary development, and higher-order thinking skills.

    Note: Level 2, Activities 3 and 4 were previously updated in Summer 2024.

  • We added new Essential Vocabulary activities with new art to Levels 7–15.

    • These activities provide explicit vocabulary instruction before reading passages.

    • Students no longer have to click through the passage to get to the work.

  • Sight Words activities are now called High-Frequency Words.

    • We added new explicit instruction to highlight letter-sound correspondences.

  • We made data-driven updates to Skill Checks to support engagement and maintain assessment integrity.

  • We made accessibility updates across the program, including:

    • adding keyboard navigation for combining and categorizing tasks

For PowerUp Educators

  • We revised Resources Hub content and myLexia resources to reflect updates made in the program.

    • View the Passage Reference Guide (PRG) Companion to view details about the changes to passages in Comprehension Levels 2.1, 2.2, and 4.

    • We updated Goal Setting and Progress Tracking resources to reflect new student-facing unit goals.

    • We updated Foundational Comprehension Lexia Lessons for Levels 2 and 4.

    • We updated PDF and digital Lexia Lessons, Skill Builders, and Anchor Charts to reflect High-Frequency Words changes.

    • We updated the Teacher’s Manual was updated to reflect the new student-facing goals, content changes to essential vocabulary activities, Comprehension Levels 2 and 4 updates, and High-Frequency Words changes.

PowerUp

We created a new login screen design to simplify the login experience!

With this update, students and educators now use the same input fields to enter their username or email address and password.

We added your school name and program version to the bottom of the login screen, as well as an image that appears on the login screen, which will rotate based on a set of pre-selected images.

For PowerUp Students

  • We added Volume Control in PowerUp!

    Students can adjust the program volume from the audio dropdown menu.

  • We updated the Unit Progress Bar to more accurately reflect a student’s progress within timed and recycled units.

    In Auto Placement, students can now see where they are in completing the 5 units that span the Comprehension, Word Study, and Grammar sections.

  • For accessibility, we added:

    • Keyboard Support for additional tasks and Login

    • Additional support for Color Contrast

For PowerUp Educators

  • We added the ability for educators to disable automatic strand management, which prevents strands from turning off when students reach their weekly minutes.

    This flexibility allows for better support of a variety of implementations. See the myLexia section above for more details.

  • PowerUp Resources Hub Updates:

    • We changed the Volume Control screenshot in the PowerUp Teacher’s Manual.

    • We added a new language translation to our collection: Bengali!

      We translated the General Achievement Certificate, General Home Use Letter, and Clever Add-On Letter.

    • We translated the PowerUp General Achievement Certificate into 11 more additional languages.
