School Year Start and End Dates in myLexia
Overview
It’s a good idea to review your myLexia settings for school year start and end dates before a new school year starts! If your school year start date doesn’t match the start date setting in myLexia, it can affect reporting, Core5 Performance Predictors, and the availability of student achievement certificates (certificates are only available for the current school year). The school year start and end dates in myLexia are a site-wide setting that only myLexia administrators can change.

Please note that although all users can see the school year start and end dates for their site, only users with the highest level of administrator access for their site can change these settings.
If you are a teacher or school administrator who is not able to change myLexia settings, and you think that the start and end dates are incorrect, contact your myLexia school or district administrator.
Where can I see the start and end dates for my school or district?
You can see the current start and end dates for your school year on the Resources tab in myLexia. To access the Resources tab, select Resources at the top of the page.
My school year end date is coming up. Will my students still be able to log in after the end date?
The school year start and end dates are for reporting purposes. As long as your site has active licenses, students who have accounts in myLexia should be able to log in year-round.
The school year start and end dates for my school or district are incorrect in myLexia. How do I change them?
Users with the highest level of myLexia admin access for their site can change the school year start and end dates in myLexia.
Before you change the dates, read the next section for information on when you should or should not change the start date.
In myLexia, select Settings in the upper right.
In the General section, select Site Settings.
In the Site Information section, use the date pickers to change the school year start and end dates.
Select Save.
When is the best time to change our start date?
If the existing start date in myLexia is in the future, you should try to avoid changing your start date to a date in the past. If you do, you will skip some important start-of-year processing. If you need to change the start date to an earlier date, you should wait until after the existing start date in myLexia.
The best time to change the start date is if the current start date and the new start date are both in the future, or both in the past. For example, if today is Sept 1, you want to change your start date to Aug. 28th, and the existing myLexia start date is Sept 5th, you should wait until after Sept 5th to change the start date.

If the new start date and the existing myLexia start date are both in the future, make sure you export, print, or save any necessary reports from last year before the new start date.
