What Student Information can I Edit in myLexia?

Overview

The types of student information that educators with teacher and admin accounts can edit in myLexia®️ depends on how the site rosters student accounts.

  • Educators in districts that automate rostering are only able to edit student program assignment and language support options.

  • Educators in non-automated sites will be able to edit student information such as name, username, or password, and also edit student program assignment and language support options.

Applies to: Educators and administrators who have Teacher or Admin access to myLexia®️

Does not apply to: Educators and administrators who have read-only accounts in myLexia. If you have a read-only account, contact your myLexia school or district administrator for help.

Non-automated rostering

If your school or district does not automate student account rosters, you will be able to make the following changes in myLexia:

  • Change student name (first name, last name, middle initial, suffix)

  • Change student username

  • Change student password

  • Move student to another school (District Admins only)

  • Change student grade

  • Change student’s Reading program assignment

  • Change student’s placement in current program

  • Change student’s language support option for Lexia®️ Core5®️ Reading and Lexia®️ PowerUp Literacy®️

  • Change the default Listen Mode setting for PowerUp

Automated rostering

Some schools and districts use automated tools to sync the students in myLexia with their Student Information System (SIS). If your district uses automated rostering, you will not be able to edit most types of student information.

If you don't know if your school or district uses automated tools for rostering, check with your myLexia administrator.

If your school or district automates student account rosters, you will be able to make the following changes in myLexia for students who use Lexia student programs:

  • Change student’s Reading program assignment from Core5 to PowerUp or from PowerUp to Core5

  • Change student’s placement in Core5, Lexia English, or PowerUp

  • Change student’s language support option for Core5 or PowerUp

  • Change the default Listen Mode setting for PowerUp
