Create new Student Account: Save Button is Dimmed

Overview

If you try to create a new student account in myLexia but are unable to save the account, it may be because you didn’t fill out all of the required fields, or one of the fields contains invalid information.

Applies to: Educators and administrators who have Teacher, School Admin, or District Admin access to myLexia®.

I tried to create a new student, but the "Save" button is dimmed

In the Create Student window, there are six required fields: First Name, Last Name, Username, Password, School, and Grade. If you have Teacher or School Admin access in myLexia, the School field should be already filled in and is not editable.

  • Once you enter valid information in a field, you should see a checkmark next to the field. If you enter invalid information or don’t fill in one of the required fields you will see an “X” next to the field, and the Save button will be dimmed.

  • The Save button becomes selectable when all required fields have a checkmark. If the Save button is not active, check to make sure you successfully filled in all of the required fields. Teachers and School Admins should see five checkmarks (since the School field is automatically filled in for you). District Admins should see six checkmarks.

  • If any of the fields have a red “X” next to them, read the error message under the field, and change the contents of the field accordingly.
