Lexia’s Fall Science of Reading Week:

Developing Readers: Bridging Skills & Confidence

Tuesday, October 7th, 2025

12:00-1:00pm ET

As the second event in Lexia’s Fall Science of Reading Week, we invite you to join us for a panel discussion geared specifically for educators working with students in the elementary grades. We know that the elementary grades are a pivotal stage where students are taking their newly mastered foundational skills and learning to apply them for comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary building.  Science of reading research offers guidance for making this a successful transition, but hinges on intentional systems, responsive instruction, and shared leadership.

This jam-packed session will explore how schools can bridge foundational skill-building with deeper literacy development to ensure every student continues on a path toward confident, independent reading.

Our national experts and educators will cover:

  • What the science of reading reveals about the shift from foundational skills to comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary
  • Practical strategies for differentiating instruction to meet diverse reading needs
  • How Tier 1 instruction, MTSS, and data use support equitable learning
  • Building a school-wide culture of literacy through shared goals and collaboration
  • Leadership practices that sustain momentum into upper elementary and beyond
