Lexia’s Fall Science of Reading Week:
Adolescent Readers: Learning to Read, Reading to Learn
Wednesday, October 8th, 2025
12:00-1:00pm ET
In the third and final event in Lexia’s Fall Science of Reading Week, we invite you to join us for a panel discussion geared specifically for educators working with adolescent students. We know that adolescents are reach for rich, challenging learning. However, too often, our systems don’t reflect what we understand about how they grow as readers.
In this session, we’ll explore how educators and leaders can build the kind of learning environments where students feel empowered to take ownership over their literacy journey and are inspired to grow.
Our national experts and school-based educators will discuss:
- What the science of reading reveals about adolescent literacy development
- How to support unfinished learning while building motivation, agency, and critical thinking
- Practical strategies for embedding literacy across all content areas
- Leadership moves that ensure every student has access to high-quality, relevant instruction
- How to work within (and beyond) traditional secondary structures to meet students where they are

We want to hear from you!
- What are you most looking forward to during this conversation?
- What tips do you have for others looking to best support your adolescent learners in their literacy journey?
- What questions do you have for other educators who are already successfully supporting this population of students?
Note: If you can’t make it to the live session, register anyway to have the recording sent to you!
