Overview
As part of Lexia's commitment to high-quality professional learning, over the past year, Lexia® LETRS® has enhanced its assessment experience to better reflect educator growth, uphold academic integrity, and improve the overall learning experience.
This article describes the changes that were made, the reasons behind them, and what these changes mean for educators.
Applies to: Educators who are enrolled in the Lexia® LETRS® or Lexia® LETRS® for Early Childhood Educators courses of study.
What are the goals of these changes?
Deliver high-quality, reliable assessments that accurately reflect learners’ knowledge, growth, and performance
Provide an assessment experience grounded in academic rigor and fidelity
Increase academic integrity through enhanced assessment design
What enhancements were made to the assessments?
Revisions were made to the testing experience and assessment design. These changes include:

A “Previous” button allows educators to revisit questions before they submit the assessment.
There are multiple versions of each question, similar in difficulty level and measuring the same objective.
Second attempts on Checks for Understanding and Unit Assessments will display a different version of each question.
Posttests include different versions of each question from Pretests.
New questions were created and reviewed by LETRS content experts. (None of the questions were generated using AI.)
What do these changes mean for me?
The enhancements to assessments provide a more authentic measure of educators’ understanding and progress.
The addition of a "Previous" button helps support deeper reflection as users engage with the assessments.
Increased rigor creates more confidence in the assessments and their ability to highlight performance and knowledge growth.
The changes uphold the quality and rigor that make LETRS a trusted professional learning experience.
