How are students typically assigned to Core5 or PowerUp?
Overview
The myLexia setting: Highest Grade Assigned to Core5 and the student's grade in myLexia determine whether students are automatically assigned to Lexia Core5
Reading or Lexia
PowerUp Literacy
when their accounts are created or after their accounts are reset.
Applies to: Educators and administrators who have Teacher, School Admin, or District Admin access to myLexia.
Your school or district has a myLexia site setting that determines the Highest Grade Automatically Assigned to Core5. The default setting is "5th grade,” but your site setting may be higher or lower. This site setting applies only to students whose Reading Status is "Not Started."
For sites with the default setting of “5th grade,” the following is true:
-
New accounts/reset accounts in grades PreK to five: If you create a new account, or reset the account, for a student in grades PreK to five, they will be automatically assigned to Core5.
-
New accounts/reset accounts in grades six and up: If you create a new account, or reset the account, for a student in grades six and up, they will be automatically assigned to PowerUp.
-
Students in grades six and up who have existing Core5 accounts: Students who previously used Core5 are not automatically switched to PowerUp if you change their myLexia grade assignment to sixth grade or above.
