ClassLink Onboarding Step 5: Launch

Overview

This article is the final step in setting up a sync between ClassLink and myLexia: launch day!

By now, you have completed most of the setup work, and are getting ready to launch. On launch day, your first ClassLink sync will have run. Staff and students will be synced with ClassLink, and will be able to log in using single sign-on.

This article covers some frequently asked questions about launch day, and advises what to do if you notice any sync issues.

Applies to: Staff who have myLexia® administrative accounts (District Administrators in a district site, and School Administrators in a school site) who also have administrative access to ClassLink.

Does not Apply to: Staff who have myLexia School Admin accounts in a district site, or staff who have Teacher accounts or Read-Only accounts.

When is our launch date?

You and your Lexia data integrations specialist will decide on a launch date together. During the time leading up to your launch date, your data integrations specialist will prepare your school or district’s account.

Once preparations are complete on Lexia’s end, your data integrations specialist will ask you to confirm that your school or district is ready to activate the ClassLink sync. Once that happens, Lexia will finalize the activation.

ClassLink syncs happen overnight, so you should see the results of your first sync in myLexia the morning after your site is activated.

What does launch day look like?

On launch day, your staff and students will probably notice a few differences.

Class Changes

Classes that were previously set up in myLexia will have been deleted with the first sync. In their place will be classes based on your ClassLink sharing rules.

If you have custom classes, such as classes that include exception staff or students, you may need to re-create them manually in myLexia.

If you remove students or staff from a class, or delete the class, it does not delete any accounts from myLexia. You can remove students or staff from a class, or delete a class, without worrying about deleting accounts or data.

Login Changes

Login through ClassLink dashboard: Once Lexia has completed the OAuth setup, you will be able to add Lexia’s apps to your LaunchPad via the ClassLink App Library.

Students log in via the student program apps (Core5, PowerUp, and Lexia English). Staff log in with the myLexia app in order to monitor student data, but they can also use the student apps to preview the programs in Educator Mode.

Student program login: Students should see a "Use My School Login" button on the student program login pages.

myLexia login: Staff who enter their email address on the myLexia login page will be taken to ClassLink to complete the login.

What should I look for after the launch?

Your data integrations specialist will review your site to make sure that everything synced as expected. You can look at your staff, student, class, and school lists in myLexia to make sure that the expected staff, students, classes, and schools are there.

ClassLink Sync

How often does data get synced from ClassLink to myLexia?

ClassLink API syncs run every night. The sync starts at around midnight Eastern Time.

Your student information system (SIS) syncs with ClassLink, and then ClassLink syncs with myLexia. Therefore, changes in your SIS may take up to two days to be reflected in myLexia.

Something’s not right. What should I do?

If you notice any data is missing or incorrect in myLexia, please reply to your existing case with Lexia Data Integrations.
