Why can't I find my student's Core5 certificate?

Overview

Lexia® Core5® Reading students receive level certificates when they complete a level in Core5, and a completion certificate when they complete all of Core5. This article explains a few reasons why you might not see a student’s certificate on your class overview in myLexia.

Applies to: Educators and administrators who have Teacher, School Admin, or District Admin access to myLexia®.

Where did my student’s certificates go?

Personalized certificates are only available for the current school year (as specified in the School Year setting available to administrators in myLexia).

If a student finished a level in the previous school year, and you did not get a chance to print their individual certificate before the new school year started, you can find generic certificates on the Core5 Resources Hub.

For more information, see Where to Find Blank or Additional Types of Core5 Certificates

My student finished two levels and I can only find the most recent certificate.

By default, only the most recent certificate earned by a student is included in the Certificates tab in your Class Overview and in the Action Plan of the Student Overview, but you can see all certificates from this school year from the Class Overview.

  1. From your Class Overview, select the Certificates tab of the Action Plan, then select All Certificates.

  2. All certificates from the current school year are available from this list. Sort by student name to more easily see all certificates for a student.

If the student finished the level in the previous school year, that certificate will not be available. However, you can print a certificate from the Core5 Resources Hub.

My student told me that they finished a level, but I can’t find the certificate.

First, you can check the All Certificates list on your Class Overview. If you don’t see the certificate in the list, look at the student’s Detailed Skills Report to see which level they are on and when they started the level. Core5 Levels are divided into two halves, and students need to complete the first half of all of the activities in a level to unlock the second half of the level. Sometimes, when students advance to the second half of a level, they think they finished the level.

In the student's Core5 activity selection screen, there are two dots underneath the activity badges. When the student is in the first half of the level, the dot on the left is highlighted, and when the student is in the second half of the level, the dot on the right is highlighted. The bottom of the screen also displays which half of the level the student is in.
