I am currently a resource room teacher and Teacher Consultant with a district in Macomb County, where I’ve been working for 24 years with a passion for supporting literacy development. Four years ago, I founded my LLC, That's What I Heard, through which I offer training to school districts, focusing primarily on word decoding. In addition to my training services, I’ve written a book and created an online, self-paced course that aligns with the Science of Reading. The course is divided into two parts: the first delves into key research in reading science, while the second offers 19 lessons that incorporate explicit, systematic, and sequential instruction, as recommended by LETRS. My work is driven by a deep commitment to helping educators enhance their students’ literacy skills through evidence-based practices.
