Congratulations on your student completing Core5!

In some instances, it may be beneficial to have students who have used Core5 reassigned to PowerUp. District and school leaders have the best understanding of their own circumstances and this decision may be individualized to their specific needs. However, it’s important to keep in mind that PowerUp is not a direct continuation of Core5 and it was developed specifically to accelerate literacy gains for students in grades 6-12 who are at risk of not meeting College- and Career-Ready Standards.

The content of the program is rooted in research about adolescent learners and built on a pedagogical framework that supports their unique learning needs. The text choices and supplementary media content were selected to be appropriate and relevant for readers in grades 6-12. This content may not be pertinent and engaging for students at the elementary level.

If you would still like to move your student to PowerUp, be aware that resetting placement permanently deletes all Core5 progress and history for the student's account. Lexia recommends that you print or save any necessary reports and certificates before doing so.
