Community badges are a fun and rewarding way to recognize and celebrate the contributions and achievements of members within the community.

These badges serve as visible tokens of appreciation and can help to motivate and inspire continued positive engagement.

Here’s a look at what community badges are on offer here in the Community Center and how you can earn them:

  • Acknowledgement: Badges recognize and reward positive behavior, reinforcing the value of active and constructive participation.
  • Motivation: Earning badges can motivate members to engage more frequently and contribute more significantly to the community.
  • Community Building: As members strive to earn badges, they foster a more vibrant, interactive, and supportive community environment.
  • Visible Expertise: Badges allow others to identify experienced or particularly helpful members quickly, facilitating better peer-to-peer support.

How to Track Your Badges

You can often track your earned badges through your community profile page. This page will display all the badges you’ve earned, along with a description of how each badge was obtained.

This is such a fun way to encourage collaboration!

I love these badges and think this is a great way to motivate interaction among this community. I know I am motivated to explore more and engage more. Thank you, I can’t wait for our customers to join this!

I love these badges (and the emerging, distinguished, expert classifications)!! One question and one suggestion:

  • I noticed for most of the badges, “emerging” is the first level. But for author, it’s “young” author. Is that an intentional distinction? I think it would be nice if they’re all consistently “emerging.”
  • I think people who have passed LETRS are really proud of that achievement. (And I hope it will be the same for successful completion of Aspire.) If there’s a way to indicate that someone is a LETRS or Aspire “graduate,” I think that kind of recognition would go a long way -- and it would also highlight our amazing PL products, similar to how student products are promoted with the “Core 5/PUP/Lexia English Learner” badges.

The current badge system is a masterstroke in fostering engagement, recognition, and community spirit. It thoughtfully blends milestones, expertise, and participation into a vibrant tapestry of appreciation. From celebrating first posts to honoring expert contributions, each badge is a small, shiny token of encouragement that motivates members to connect, share, and thrive. It's like gamifying goodwill—rewarding growth while building a stronger, more interactive community. Bravo!

Thinking about the possibilities ahead, what are your thoughts around event-specific badges, such as Challenging Winner ( for winning a Lexia-hosted competition or challenge or Anniversary Event Attendee (for participating in Lexia’s anniversary or major celebration events?

This is a very cool idea for engagement and building a community. I would love to see a LETRS Champion or Aspire Champion badge for when someone completes their journey.

I love friendly competition! This is so engaging and well thought out.

@christine.f Yes!! Definitely in planning!!

@Stacie W I totally agree with you. There could be a badge for Vol 1, Vol 2, EC, Admin, and Aspire!

Oh I love all the badges!1 What a great way to encourage engagement and some friendly competition!

I love these badges and such a wide variety! I think it will boost engagement for all Community Center visitors! Great job, y’all!

For the Engagement Badges, my suggestion is to consider replacing “critic” with another word that has a more positive connotation (ex. influencer, thought leader, ambassador...there are probably other options I’m not thinking of!)

Big fan of the Critic suite of badges. 😀 According to my wife and kids, I’m already expert level.

The only other thing I can think of is badges for customer advocates.  If you provide a slap 5 you earn X badge.  If you participate in a panel discussion you earn Y badge.  If you serve as a customer reference, you earn Z badge, etc.

I cannot wait for my first badge as a Founding Member!  - I will get that one, right? 🤣

I can imagine many asking about the turnaround time on when the badges will be released once they reach different achievements.

Great work on these badges. This will most certainly get everyone excited about participating in our Lexia Community Center!😍

That is a great idea, it would be cool if that was also somehow attached to an image that someone could easily recognize which courses we have all completed.

The new badging system is a great way to make the community more fun and rewarding by recognizing different types of participation, from posting your first comment to becoming a top contributor. The variety of badges is exciting and offers something for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or really active in helping others. It’s also a nice touch to include special event badges for things like webinars or being part of the community’s early days. One idea to make it even better would be to add badges that reward people for learning about or using multiple Lexia products, which could encourage members to explore more and get even more value from the community.
