Tuesday, March 4th, 2025

12:00-1:00pm ET

To continue the conversation in Lexia’s Science of Reading Week, we invite you to join us for a panel discussion geared towards school and district administrators looking for ways to create or build on a shared vision for literacy success.

This live session will focus on the position of instructional leaders in driving change. It will also hone in on the importance of change management at every stage of the journey.  You’ll walk away with practical insights on how to promote equitable literacy transformation, foster collaboration at all levels, and ensure rigorous, evidence-based instruction that meets the needs of all students.

We want to hear from you!

What are you most looking forward to about this conversation?

What tips do you have for others in regards to change management?

What questions do you have for other administrators who are also navigating making changes to their literacy instruction?

(Spoiler alert— there will be time for questions at the end of the presentation!)

Q: What tips do you have for others in regards to change management?

A: Incorporate meaningful and relevant Professional Learning to go along with whatever change is happening.  Provide opportunities to digest and collaborate with peers.  Set clear expectations and revisit them on a cycle.  Make staff aware of and follow through with accountability measures.  When an expectation is not met, identify the hurdle and support the staff member(s) in overcoming it.

During this session, the panelists spoke heavily to an “all hands on deck” approach to supporting students, and recognized the need to provide ongoing professional development to all staff.  We are expecting not only teachers, but also paras, support staff, specials teachers, and others who may not have been trained on teaching literacy to provide support - and we owe it to everyone to be providing adequate training to everyone on best practices to ensure that all students are getting quality support.  I love that this was acknowledged!
