Getting Started for Lexia English Leaders  

 

Overview

The Getting Started for Lexia English Leaders guide is a resource for administrators preparing to implement Lexia English.

Lexia English follows an Adapted Blended Learning (ABL) model that includes three components:

  • Independent, student-driven learning

  • Teacher-led instruction

  • Ongoing data monitoring to drive instructional priorities

This guide is designed to support administrators in setting expectations around each of these three components.

This article explains what is included in the guide, as well as where to find it.

What is included in the Getting Started for Lexia English Leaders Guide?

For each of the three ABL components, the guide provides information regarding:

  • Key features: Features of Lexia English that support the ABL component

  • Time commitment: an estimation of how much time educators will spend implementing each component

  • Considerations and questions: "Who?" and "How?" questions to prompt the leader to consider which stakeholders will be involved in their Lexia English implementation and how the ABL model will be implemented

 

The guide also includes an Expectations and Responsibilities Planning Guide that Lexia English leaders can fill out for more help with getting started.

The Expectations and Responsibilities Planning Guide contains space to brainstorm:

  • What you hope to achieve with Lexia English

  • Who to involve, how often, and how to achieve desired outcomes for each ABL component

  • Considerations for different stakeholders, such as:

    • Implementation responsibilities and expectations

    • Possible support needs

    • How accountability/success is measured
