What is Core5 Auto Placement?
Auto Placement is a tool that is used only once when students first log into Core5. It is designed to place each student in the appropriate program level based on their performance.
How long does Auto Placement take?
Auto Placement generally takes less than 20 minutes to complete. However, older students and students whose skills are either far above or far below grade level may take longer.
Do students have to finish Auto Placement in one class period?
No. If a student does not complete Auto Placement in one sitting, their work is saved. When the student logs in again, Auto Placement will continue from where they left off.
What happens when students complete Auto Placement?
When a student finishes Auto Placement, they see a message that says “Good Job!” and they are logged out of Core5. When they log in again, they begin Core5 at the beginning of their assigned level.
Can a student place out of Core5?
A student may place out of Core5 if they receive 90% or higher in Level 21 during Auto Placement. That student’s reading skills are advanced beyond the scope of the program (i.e., the student is reading above typical 5th and 6th-grade content). The student will see a message that says “Wow! Great Work! You have placed above the last level of Core5. Please talk to your teacher about what to do next.”
